Hi, thanks for dropping by!

If we have never met before, hi! I'm Sumer. It's so nice to "meet" you. If we have met before it's so good to see you here! Welcome!

A little bit of my story:

In early 2019 I was a senior finishing high school, discouraged and not knowing what to do as my next steps. I had been deferred by all 7 colleges I applied to the year before and had no clue what was next for me. I took a chance and applied for a christian gap year. "Why not? I have no other plans?"

Just like that, in September of 2019 I was saying goodbye to my parents and getting on a plane with 28 strangers, flying to Romania to serve the Lord and serve the people in the communities we would live in. As an inexperienced 18/19 year old, Romania felt like walking through the trenches. It was hard and long and I was ready for a fresh start in a new country. 3 months into the gap year, we packed up and were off to Guatemala. We landed in the land of eternal springs. It was a sight for sore eyes and a fresh breath for tired lungs.

I fell in love with missions there. The Lord captivated my heart for Himself. He taught me what it looked like to sit at His feet and not let anything else matter. It was from that place I fully said yes to God for the first time in my life. I got baptized in an old bathtub in a field where I was staying. In that moment I knew there was no way I could ever say no to anything the Lord asked of me.

Very quickly after, when He asked me to say yes to long term missions, the answer was not easy but it was quick, "yes, Lord."

In 2021, through the midst of a pandemic, I moved back to Guatemala. I spent the next year gaining experience discipling teens, starting ministry, leading missions teams, and deepening my relationship with the Lord. Exactly a year later the Lord called me to move back to the United States to be with my generation, Gen Z. Once again, it was not easy, but my answer was "yes Lord". Moving to South Carolina has been one of the best decisions of my life (thanks mom and dad for moving first haha). I am seeing first hand how Gen Z is effecting the world. They will take the gospel to the nations.

I never thought I would be in this position. Four years after that gap year, here I am, still saying yes. Over and over again. I have experienced something that does not compare to anything on this earth and I consider it the greatest honor of my life to share that thing with people all over the world.
